OUR APPROACH TO CURATED DESIGN
TIMELINE OVERVIEW
Most Curated by SLD projects run 8–12 weeks from kickoff to installation, depending on scope, vendor lead times, and client response time. Timelines may extend with custom furnishings, cabinetry fabrication, or client-requested changes.
1. DISCOVER & DEFINE
1–2 WEEKS: We begin with a focused conversation to understand your space, goals, and how you want the room to support your daily life. Together, we define scope, establish a clear budget framework, and align priorities so every decision moving forward is intentional.
Result: Confidence and direction. A clear plan that reflects your lifestyle, values, and how you want the space to feel.
2. CONCEPT & DIRECTION
2–3 WEEKS: We develop a creative direction tailored to your taste and needs, including layout ideas, furnishings, materials, finishes, and when applicable, custom cabinetry concepts. This phase gives you a clear vision for how the room will come together, with investment clarity before moving forward.
Result: Excitement without uncertainty. A design concept that feels right and works beautifully with real life.
3. DESIGN & DETAIL
2–3 WEEKS: With the direction approved, we refine every detail. From furniture and lighting to finishes and art, each element is thoughtfully selected to balance aesthetics, function, value, and timeline. All decisions are guided by your goals and budget.
Result: Clarity and control. The reassurance that every detail has been considered and aligned.
4. PROCURE & COORDINATE
3–5 WEEKS (overlaps with vendor lead times): Once selections are approved, we move into purchasing and project preparation. Depending on your preferences and project needs, procurement and coordination can be designer-managed or client-managed, with the level of SLD involvement defined in advance.
For clients who prefer a hands-off experience, our team can manage ordering of trade-only furnishings, coordinate delivery timelines, and liaise with vendors to keep everything moving smoothly. For clients who prefer to take the lead on purchasing, we provide clear documentation, trusted vendor recommendations, and guidance to support a seamless rollout.
Result: Clarity and momentum. A procurement approach that fits your comfort level without shopping overwhelm or unnecessary complexity.
5. INSTALL & STYLE
1–2 Days: (once items arrive)
When everything is ready, we oversee installation and finish the space with thoughtful styling. Final layers are added to ensure the room feels cohesive, personal, and complete.
